Foo Fighters Play New Album Live, New Single Details Emerge

OK, everyone. Apologies for the disappearance; shortly after we came bursting back out of the gate in 2011 the official VLM laptop saw fit to commit seppuku and needed to go in for repairs. But within the last 24 hours the Foo Fighters ramped up promotion for their new album, and not even a blown hard drive can keep us from reporting on the actions of Dave Grohl and company.

Late yesterday, after much anticipation, the Foo Fighters played a secret show in Santa Barbara, during which they played the entire yet-to-be-titled new album start to finish. The lucky bastards at Antiquiet made it to the show, and praised the new music as being everything that Dave Grohl had promised it would be; a heavy, balls-to-the-wall rock album. Earlier today the Foo Fighters rewarded those fans who don’t live on the west coast with a live performance of album track “These Days”. You can watch that below.

In addition, Radio 104.5′s John Allers confirmed to VLM that the first single from the album will be called “Rope”, and should hit radio stations on or around February 22. RCA has previously reported that the full album should be out sometime in April.

Per last night’s concert, the track listing for the new album appears to be what you see below.

  1. Bridge Burning
  2. Rope
  3. Dear Rosemary
  4. White Limo
  5. Arlandria
  6. These Days
  7. Back & Forth
  8. Matter of Time
  9. Miss the Misery
  10. I Shoulda Known
  11. Walk

Personally, I’m foaming at the mouth for some new material. Grohl hinted at the end of last night’s show that another start-to-finish show was on the way, and of course we’ll have more details as they arrive.
