Tonight’s MNR is going up a little late, due to some inconveniently timed WordPress downtime. But here it is, a few minutes past midnight on Tuesday.
-Fresh off the release of their self-titled EP and their well-received cover of Adam Lambert’s “Whataya Want From Me”, Love and Logic have released their new single “Breathe to iTunes, and as a B-Side, they’ve offered a cover of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance”. Audio and video are below.
Love and Logic – Bad Romance [iTunes] (Check out the original song “Breathe” too if you pick this up on iTunes)
I could do without some of the AutoTune or whatever distortion they put on the lead singer’s voice, but I’ve been waiting for someone to rock this track up good and proper. So props to Love and Logic for being the first (or at least the first to my knowledge).
Along those same lines, Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams gave her fans an impromptu solo performance last night, in which she did a short piano cover of the same song. Video below, and check out the link from whence I found the video and read Johnny Firecloud (of Antiquiet fame)’s take on the current state of “viral” videos.
And lastly, new YouTube/Chatroulette phenom Merton has returned with a second piano improv video:
My personal favorite is the song about Bill Clinton. As an internet fad, Chatroulette is probably running out of steam, meaning Merton will probably go back to being just another wiseguy with a piano and a laptop, but so long as the two are around, Chatroulette piano improv will have a home on this site.
