Album A Day: Paramore – The Summer Tic EP

Again with the post deciding to save as a draft…WTF mates? Anyway, here’s Friday’s Album A Day.

Artist: Paramore
Album: The Summer Tic EP
Released: June 2006

If you really thought I was going to go through a whole week of women in music and NOT bring up Paramore, you’re delusional. Sadly my lack of foresight resulted in covering the band’s two full-length albums months ago, leaving me with just this EP, released during the band’s 2006 Warped Tour stint. As a result, there’s not a whole lot of substance worth talking about. The Summer Tic EP is primarily for longtime, hardcore fans looking for a couple of rarities and a cover. The most interesting item on the disc is the Crab Mix of “Emergency”, one of the highlights from All We Know Is Falling. The new mix is essentially a screamo version of the song, and yet the song is only enhanced by the addition. It’s pretty rare when a song actually gets better through the use of dischordant screaming.

Incidentally, Paramore and No Doubt were both in Philadelphia yesterday as part of their tour collaboration, hence why I covered No Doubt yesterday. Meant to say that in the last post but blanked on it.
