As promised, some bonus blogging this evening.
Sometime last week I got this inexplicable urge to listen to some Motley Crue. Weird given that I’m not the biggest fan of hair metal, but after some listening I’m slowly finding myself sold on them.

Third Eye Blind apparently debuted a significant amount of material from their new album Ursa Major at SXSW this past weekend. A release date is currently slated for June 23rd, but I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that this live set featuring just about the entire record is getting bootlegged already. The Red Star EP they released back in November was allright, but left me wanting a bit more. From all accounts Ursa Major hearkens back to the sound the band’s developed over the last decade. Fingers crossed…

Now that they’re done with the “Clarity x 10″ tour, Jimmy Eat World are offering up one hell of a treat for fans who may not have gotten to see the band live on this last go-round. On April 7th the band will release Clarity Live, a digital-only album with selections from the Clarity x 10 tour. Best of all, unless I’m reading the ads on their website wrong, Clarity Live will be free. Free live collection from Jimmy Eat World? Why, yes, yes I do want.

(that reminds me, Jimmy Eat World have a twitter, and know how to use it. If you want some other good celebrity twitterfolk, I advise you check up on Trent Reznor, Chris Cornell, Mark Hoppus, and Travis Barker. The latter two have posted occasionally about the pending Blink 182 reunion, so if that’s your thing, have at it)
That’s all I’ve got for the time being. Back tomorrow.

I was a Motley fan of Dr. Feelgood and not much else…I’ve gained appreciation for the catalog since, and if you liked Too Young To Fall In Love, I would suggest Knock Em Dead Kid, which is the next track down on Shout.
